Two-wheeler that met with the accident

Pantheerankavu: A man was left injured after his two-wheeler split into two after falling in a pit dug for the Jal Jeevan Mission on the old road in Pantheerankavu near Athani.

Pantheerankavu Chalikkara native Azeem Ansar who was riding the two-wheeler met with the accident at 12 pm on Saturday. Fortunately, he escaped with minor injuries. The fork of the bike was completely damaged, and the front wheel was detached from the vehicle’s body.

Earlier, an autorickshaw met with a similar accident a few days back. The pit that was dug to install the main pipe for the Jal Jeevan Mission poses a threat to the vehicles travelling through this route. It has turned even more dangerous after huge rocks were laid to even out the pit. The rains over the past few days have also widened the pit.
