Two vice presidents quit KSU amid internal row over reorganisation

Thiruvananthapuram: Two vice presidents of the Congress-affiilated student organisation Kerala Students Union have tendered their resignations to its central unit National Students Union of India.

The individuals who have tendered their resignations are Visakh Pathiyoor and N Ananthanarayan. The development comes at a time when internal row KSU reorganisation is in limelight.

Earlier this month, the release of the KSU reorganisation list triggered a row. Major contestation was that the final list which reached the central unit underwent sweeping changes from the list readied by the state leadership. Names of Congress chieftains VD Satheesan and KC Venugopal were in limelight for alleged interventions based on favouritism.

The list also reportedly had names of seven married individuals and many argued that they should quit. KPCC chief K Sudhakaran took a stance that such individuals will not be given a role in the state committee. A and I groups too had raised their disagreement. The resignations come at this juncture.
