Two suspected sunstroke deaths in Kerala
Kannur/Thiruvananthapuram: With the mercury levels rising in the state, two persons reportedly died of sunstroke. The victims were middle-aged men from Vellora in Kannur and Parassala in Thiruvananthapuram.
Narayanan, a native of Peringome in Kannur was reported missing from Saturday night. On Sunday morning, he was found dead. Burn marks on the body raised suspicion of sunstroke.
Police suspect that burn marks below his knees were due to sunstroke. However, the cause of death can only be ascertained after a post mortem, police said. The body has been shifted to Pariyaram Medical College.
Meanwhile, in Parassala, Karunakaran, a native of Ayira collapsed and died at a field on Sunday. There were burn marks on the neck and other parts of his body. This led to the suspicion that he suffered sunstroke. The body has been shifted to a hospital for post mortem.
