Two stabbed at Paliyekkara toll plaza after verbal spat

Thrissur: Following a verbal fight at Paliyekkara toll plaza, two security persons received stab injuries on Thursday night. T B Akshay and Nidhin Babu sustained stab injuries in the attack.

A war of words ensued between the vehicle owners and the security persons of the toll plaza regarding toll collection and another gang which reached the plaza in a car unleashed the attack. The gang which came in a car wanted the security guards to open the toll booth and as their request was declined, a verbal battle followed.

The group engaged in an attack and the duo in the car escaped amidst this. Pudukkad police have booked a case. The injuries of the two persons are not serious. After taking statement from them, police will begin a detailed investigation.

The CCTV visuals of the attack are being examined and police said they have identified the car used by the assailants.
