Police informed that they are receiving more complaints against the accused following their arrest. Further details could be obtained only after a detailed interrogation of the accused, said Palakkad South police Inspector Shiju Abraham.

After creating a fake account of a woman, the accused Sarath began to chat with the industrialist. When the latter informed that he was interested to meet in person, the gang hired Devu with the support of her husband to loot the industrialist. The industrialist was asked to arrive at a house in Yakkara, from where the accused embezzled his car, gold chain, cash, credit/debit cards and mobile phone. Later, the industrialist could escape from their hold while taking him to a flat in Kodungallur. Soon he lodged a complaint at the police station.
