Palakkad: Police booked two more suspects in the honey-trap case registered at Palakkad south police station. They are Indrajith (20) and Roshith (20). By this, the total number of people nabbed in connection with the case turned eight.
The investigation team had arrested a gang, including a couple, who have a huge fan base on Instagram, on Tuesday, for honey-trapping an industrialist. The couple, who was famous through the Instagram account ‘Phoenix Couple Official’ are Gokul Deep and Devu. The other accused are Pala native Sarath, Thrissur natives Ajith, Vinay and Jishnu.
Police informed that they are receiving more complaints against the accused following their arrest. Further details could be obtained only after a detailed interrogation of the accused, said Palakkad South police Inspector Shiju Abraham.
After creating a fake account of a woman, the accused Sarath began to chat with the industrialist. When the latter informed that he was interested to meet in person, the gang hired Devu with the support of her husband to loot the industrialist. The industrialist was asked to arrive at a house in Yakkara, from where the accused embezzled his car, gold chain, cash, credit/debit cards and mobile phone. Later, the industrialist could escape from their hold while taking him to a flat in Kodungallur. Soon he lodged a complaint at the police station.

On Instagram, Devu claimed she is a homemaker, who pursues MBA. She also said that she had studied an Aviation course and later worked in Thiruvananthapuram airport and four colleges. Gokul Deep had introduced himself as a real estate businessman to his followers.
