Thrissur: In a tragic incident, two children were killed while trying to deboard a running train on Friday. The incident took place around 3 am in Koratty, Thrissur.
The deceased have been identified as Krishna Kumar (16) and Sanjay (17), natives of Koratty. The dead bodies of the minors were found by around 5 am.
According to preliminary reports, they would have met with the accident while jumping off the train, which does not have stop at Koratty station.
The bodies have been shifted to a hospital and post mortem procedures are underway. The police have begun a probe into the incident.
Amritha Express and Mangalore Express were en route to Thrissur via Koratty at the time of the incident.
As per primary assumption, the victims could have hit their head during the fall, leading to their deaths.
