Kochi: The Kerala High Court refused to issue a stay in the petition filed by P. J. Joseph against granting the two-leaves symbol to Jose K. Mani.

Earlier, a High Court single bench had approved the Election Commission decision granting the Kerala Congress (M) party and its two-leaves symbol to Jose K. Mani faction. Questioning this, P. J. Joseph approached the HC division bench including the Chief Justice.

The HC refused to consider the demand that the two-leaves symbol must be granted to the Joseph faction. The HC clarified that a stay cannot be issued.

However, the HC decided to accept the petition and conduct a detailed hearing over the matter and issued the interim order. The final verdict will be pronounced after a detailed hearing.
