Kottakkal: Two persons were killed in an accident involving a car and two buses at Kozhichena, near here in Malappuram district early on Thursday.
The deceased were occupants of the car. They were identified as Irshad and Hakkim, both natives of Iringapuram in Guruvayur.
Irshad and Hakkim were taking newspapers to Kozhikode in a car. While trying to overtake a bus at Kozhichena around 2.30 am, the car got sandwiched between two buses.
The car was completely destroyed. The mangled car had to be cut open to take the two out of the wreckage. However, one of them had died by then. The other died soon after reaching the hospital.
