Kollam: Two persons have been killed as a fishing boat capsized off Neendakara. Christopher (32) and Danny (40) are the deceased. Two other people have been injured.
The mishap occurred around 7 AM on Tuesday near the Shakthikulangara church. Local residents spotted the boat and informed the police. However, they said that neither the police nor the Coast Guard reached the spot immediately, which cost two lives. As the officials did not arrive at the spot even after a long time, locals themselves launched rescue operations.
Though the people involved in the mishap were taken to the District Hospital soon, only two could be saved.
