Two drown, one missing in Pampa river

Pathanamthitta: Two persons who reportedly came to attend Maramon Convention drowned while bathing in the Pampa river in Pathanamthitta on Saturday.

The third person, who was also part of the group, is missing and a search is on to find him. The deceased persons have been identified as Merin and Mefin, residents of Chettikulangara in Mavelikara. Both are siblings.

While the person missing is Albin, who also hails from Chettikulangara.

The mishap happened around 3:30 pm, while the trio was bathing in the river. However, the locals came to know about the incident lately. Hence, the rescue operation got delayed.

Fire and safety personnel found the two after hours of search. Though the duo was rushed to Kozhencherry district hospital, both were declared dead.

Meanwhile, the latest reports said the search for the missing person has been temporarily stopped due to bad light.
