Pattambi (Palakkad): Two young boys drowned while bathing in Melekulam at Vallur, here.
Ashwin (12), son of Subish from Kodaloor, and Abhijith (13), son of Sunilkumar from Perassannur, tragically lost their lives.
The incident occurred around 3 PM on Sunday when the children went to the pond to bathe with their friends. It is reported that more than ten children were present at the time. Ashwin and Abhijith were trapped in the mud while bathing. Abhijith's brother and other kids who were with them tried to save them.
Local residents were alerted by the other children, and they quickly rushed to the shore to bring the boys ashore. However, by the time they were brought to hospital, they had already passed away. Pattambi police arrived at the scene and took necessary actions.
