Thiruvananthapuram: The police have arrested Azee, a resident of Varkala, who is suspected of assaulting an acquaintance after the latter refused to fulfill his request to purchase petrol. This unusual incident took place at Nadakkamukku Junction near Varkala on Tuesday, approximately at 11 pm.
Azee found himself stranded on the road after running out of petrol for his bike. Coincidentally, he noticed his acquaintance, Kailasnath, along with another individual passing by on a bike. Seizing the opportunity, Azee approached Kailasnath and requested him to purchase petrol on his behalf, but Kailasnath declined the request.
Following this, a verbal spat erupted and it escalated to a scuffle. Azee had the knife in his possession and he allegedly used it to stab Kailasnath on his head.
According to the police, during the altercation, the knife was stuck in Kailasnath's skull, causing the handle to break off. Kailasnath's companion quickly rushed him to Varkala Hospital, where doctors removed the knife. Due to the severity of his injuries, Kailasnath was subsequently transferred to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital for further treatment. it is learnt that he has survived critical condition.
Meanwhile, Azee who reportedly tried to flee from the scene was nabbed by the police.
