Nedumangad: Police filed a case against a man for allegedly attacking his neighbour and killing their pet dog in Nedumangad. The person booked is Kalliyathodu native Prasanth, an official at the Chathannoor Excise office.

On March 29, Prasanth's wife, Rajalakshmi, visited neighbour Adithya Reshmi's house to invite them to a function. Reshmi's dog bit Rajalakshmi and she got admitted to a hospital with injuries to her hand.

Later on April 20, Prasanth trespassed at Reshmi's house and bludgeoned the dog to death. Prasanth is alleged to have verbally abused Reshmi and attacked her when she tried to stop Prasanth from killing the dog. Reshmi also claimed that Prasanth pushed her to the ground and she suffered dental injuries.

Based on her complaint, the police have registered a case against Prasanth. Police informed that Prasanth is currently absconding.
