Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala reported 8 COVID-19 deaths on Sunday. Thiruvananthapuram Neyyatinkara native Cleetus was admitted to the medical college following chest pain on Friday. He breathed his last on Saturday. The COVID test conducted after his death turned positive of the virus infection.
Meanwhile, Kozhikode Chombala native Purushothaman, who died at Kozhikode medical college, also tested COVID positive.
Idukki Nedumkandam native Elikutty Devasya breathed her last while undergoing treatment for fever. She also turned COVID positive after her death.
At the same time, an 11- month-old child who died in Malappuram on Saturday also tested COVID positive on Sunday.
Aluva Keezhmadu native CK Gopi also succumbed to COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at Kalamassery medical college. He was a lottery seller. So far, the health officials have not identify his source of infection.
Another COVID death was reported from Kannur. Chakkarakkal native Sajith (41) died of COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at Pariyaram medical college. He was admitted to the hospital after suffering from severe fever. It is suspected that he contracted the virus from the hospital.
Two deaths were reported from Kasaragod. Thrikaripur native Hasainar Haji and Uppala native Sheharban died on Sunday. Both were confirmed with Covid-19 on July 28 and were under treatment at private hospitals.
