Thiruvananthapuram: The SFI unit at Christian College, Kattakada, has been accused of including the name of an individual who did not participate in the election on the list submitted for the university union councillors (UUCs) positions.

The college elections took place on December 22, 2022, and SFI panel member Anakha and one another Aromal, emerged victorious for UUC posts. However, when the list was forwarded to Kerala University for the selection of university-level office-bearers, it is claimed that SFI replaced Anakha's name with that of another student, A Visakh.

The list has already been submitted in preparation for the upcoming election scheduled for May 26.

According to reports, Visakh did not contest the election and he reportedly is the area secretary of Kattakkada SFI unit. The major allegation is that SFI manipulated the list to bring Visakh to the UUC post.

Name of Visakh in the list forwarded

The matter has been raised before CPM state-district leadership and the university.

Meanwhile, the college principal maintained that the new name was sought as Anakha tendered her resignation. As a result, two names were forwarded to the university. However, the principal reportedly asked the university to cancel one of the names forwarded “as there were some technical issues”.
