Trupti Desai arrived from RSS stronghold; only one media knew about her visit: Kadakampally
Thiruvananthapuram: Devaswom minister Kadakampally Surendran stated that the government suspects conspiracy behind the arrival of Trupti Desai and team for Sabarimala darshan.
Trupti Desai set out from Maharashtra which is a stronghold of BJP and RSS. Only one media in Kerala knew about their arrival to Nedumbassery and it suggests that a clear agenda and conspiracy is behind the move, the minister told media here.
“The team set out from Pune early morning to Sabarimala and arrived at Nedumbassery in the early hours. Only one media gave live visuals of the same. Later, they claimed that they will be going to Sabarimala via Kottayam and arrived at Kochi Commissioner’s office. A man waited for them there and threw chilli powder on her and the attack was telecast live on media. I strongly believe that there is an agenda behind all this,” he said.
The minister also stated that this is an attempt to destroy the peaceful atmosphere during the pilgrimage season. The government’s stance on the issue is already declared. The government implemented the apex court verdict in 2018. But in 2019, the government received a legal advice not to implement this as there is lack of clarity in the verdict, the minister added.
There was heavy rush of pilgrims in the past few days and this was higher than 2015-16. So, it is a purposeful attempt to create ruckus. The chilli spray attack on a woman was conducted under the leadership of a BJP leader. It is a conspiracy that only one media knew about the arrival of Trupti Desai, the minister repeated.
