Siddique, trolley bags lying in a gorge

Tirur: Police found two trolley bags containing the lifeless body of a businessman from Tirur beneath the 9th hairpin curve of Attappady ghat road on Friday morning. One of the bags was spotted amid the rugged boulders while the other was submerged in water. The Malappuram district police chief will oversee the examination of these bags by 9:30 am.

Tirur native Siddique, 58, who operated a hotel in Kozhikode, has been suspected dead during a police probe conducted over a missing complaint lodged by his relatives. The suspects Cherpulassery native Shibili (22) and Farhana (18) were tracked down in Chennai and were apprehended on Thursday. They were the staff at Siddique’s hotel in Olavanna.

Siddique was murdered at a hotel in Eranhipalam on Tuesday. After the murder, the accused stuffed the body inside a trolley bag and dumped it on the Attappady ghat road. They soon fled to Chennai.

According to the other staff members at Siddique's hotel, the suspect Shibili had recently joined the establishment just two weeksago. However, he was subsequently terminated due to his misconduct.
