The Collector has directed to utilise government officers coming under the panchayat for COVID-19 prevention activities.

Ernakulam: A rapid response team will be deployed in Chellanam panchayat, where triple lockdown has been imposed. The decision was taken in a video conference chaired by Ernakulam district Collector S. Suhas here on Monday. Village officers, health department and police officials will be part of the team.

The Collector has directed to utilise government officers coming under the panchayat for COVID-19 prevention activities. Teachers and officials from various departments will be part of the prevention activities.

The distribution of 5kg rice for those residing inside the panchayat as announced by the government will commence on Tuesday. The panchayat will take steps to provide ration to those undergoing home quarantine.

A special mobile team will be deployed for health related matters in the region. Steps have been taken to procure medicine for those who contact officials concerned using the telemedicine system.

Minister for Agriculture V. S. Sunil Kumar, Hibi Eden MP, MLAs John Fernandez and K. J. Maxi along with officers from various departments took part in the video conference.
