Triple lockdown in critical containment zones along Kerala coast till July 23
Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has imposed triple lockdown in the coastal areas which was declared as critical containment zones. The triple lockdown will come into force from 6 am on Monday and continue till July 23.
No trips will be allowed to and fro the containment zones except for medical emergency and distribution of essential items and services. Five-kilo rice will be supplied to the families residing in the critical containment zones along the Kerala coastal belt.
Areas under triple lockdown
- Thiruvananthapuram-Manikyavilakam, Poonthura and Puthanpally wards
- Kollam- Chavara and Panmana
- Alappuzha- Pattanakkad,Kadakkarappally,
- Cherthala south, Mararikulam north, Kodamthuruthu, Kuthiathode, Thuravoor, Arattupuzha
- Ernakulam- Chellanam
- Malappuram-Veliyamkode, Perumbadappu, Ponnani, Tanur municipalities
Offices to remain closed
State government-central government offices, other institutions and corporations in these areas will remain closed till July 23.
Services exempted from lockdown
Defence, central armed forces, treasury, public services like petroleum, CNG, LPG and PNG, disaster management activities, electricity supply, post offices and national informatics centre will be operational amid the lockdown.
Police, home guard, civil defence, fire force, jails, district administration, revenue divisional office, taluk office, village office, electricity, water supply, sanitation, dispensaries, chemist-medical equipment shops, laboratories, clinics, nursing homes, ambulance, hospitals in the public and private sector, its production and distribution units and other related medical services will function without restrictions.
Shops to open from 10 am to 6 pm
Shops which sell essential items are allowed to function from 10 am to 6 pm. These shops are permitted to remain open from 7 am to 9 am to collect stock.
Milk booths are allowed to function from 5 am to 10 am and from 4 pm to 6 pm.
Reverse quarantine centres
Reverse quarantine centres will be opened to quarantine people above 65 years, children and others suffering from chronic diseases. At the same time, nobody will be forcefully shifted to these centres.
