Trial of Kanakamala IS case begins in NIA court
Kochi: The trial procedures of Kanakamala IS (Islamic State) module case has begun in the Kochi NIA court. Trial of seven persons who were charged with cases, including sedition charges, began in the court on Wednesday.
Manseed Muhammad, Salih Muhammad, Rashid Ali, Ramshad, N. K. Safwan, Jasim N. K. and Subhani Haja Moideen are being tried. Among them, Subhani was found to be trained from abroad along with those who took part in the Paris attack in 2015.
NIA has charged cases for illegal arms possession, criminal conspiracy and sedition charges against them. As per the findings of the NIA, the accused plotted to murder top political leaders, police officials and judges in the state.
