Tree felling case: IG Sparjan Kumar to supervise Crime Branch probe team

Thiruvananthapuram: The Crime Branch members to be inducted in the high-level probe team for investigating Muttil tree felling case have been decided. IG Sprajan Kumar is in charge of supervision.

Thrissur, Malappuram and Kottayam SPs also have the responsibilities. The Crime Branch team will be mainly investigating the conspiracy in tree felling case.

Officers from Crime Branch, Vigilance and Forest department are also included in the high-level probe team. Crime Branch chief S Sreejith has been entrusted with the task of coordinating the high- level investigation.

The list of Crime Branch officials to be inducted in the team has been handed over to the chief secretary. The final decision regarding the Vigilance team will be taken by Monday.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had made it clear the other day that a special high-level team will be appointed for investigating the Muttil tree felling case.
