Kozhikode: Railways received Rs 92,760 as fine from passengers who travelled ticketless. The inspections were carried out on trains and stations from Palakkad to Koyilandy by the commercial department of railways for two days.
The inspections were conducted as per the directions of Palakkad railway division senior divisional commercial manager Arun Thomas. Kozhikode railway chief commercial inspector Shyam Sasidharan, Palakkad headquarters chief commercial inspectors Manikandan and Shyam Sundar coordinated the inspections.
Squads of over 25 travelling ticket examiners were entrusted for checking. The officials informed that inspections will continue in the upcoming days also.
