Thiruvananthapuram: Travancore Devaswom Board (TBD) has issued a new circular to curb Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activities on temple premises.

TBD earlier had issued a circular regarding the same. However, in many temples, RSS branches (Shakhas) are functioning. The new development comes at this juncture.

As per the circular, any activities other than customs and rituals are not allowed on temple premises. The items in the temple or its premises should be neither used for the conduct of physical training (with or without weapons) nor mass drill.

The respective temples are supposed to flag irregularities. Action will be evoked against officials concerned if they fail to ensure the mandate, the circular noted.
