Thiruvananthapuram: Transport Minister Antony Raju has expressed hope about the revival of KSRTC after examining major improvements in its revenue. If the profit rises, KSRTC staff will get their salary on the first of every month, declared the minister.
The minister was addressing the KSRTC staff after inaugurating the newly installed Solar Power Plant, Aadhaar-based biometric attendance system and e-service book at KSRTC headquarters here on Friday.
He also distributed cash awards to the staff who strived to increase the daily revenue.
“ The employees are cooperating well with the government. KSRTC has been in the headlines for a long time. Apart from making profit, KSRTC aims to provide a better transport facility to the public,” he added.
The minister also pointed out the government’s financial aid to revive KSRTC which has been reeling under financial crisis.
“KSRTC managed to survive with the help of the government amid the financial crisis and hike in fuel prices. Compared to the public transport sector in other states, KSRTC employees are very dedicated. Hence, KSRTC must move forward with a plan to raise the daily revenue to Rs 8 cr,” he urged.
He also announced that income earned by KSRTC swift will be allocated to KSRTC.
