Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala transport minister Antony Raju has said that the department will investigate the violation of law in the use of a KSRTC bus for a marriage function in Kothamangalam. The minister also said that he did not know about the incident.
A video surfaced on Sunday in which a KSRTC bus was seen heavily decorated with banana plants and coconut leaves, resembling the evergreen Malayalam film 'Parakkum Thalika'. A sticker ‘Thamarakshan Pillai’ was also pasted prominently on the windshield. In the video, people who rented the vehicle could also be seen dancing outside the bus. The bus was travelling from Kothamangalam to Adimali.
A case was registered on Sunday as the video went viral. Besides, a show-cause notice has been served to the driver, Nellikuzhi native Rasheed.

KSRTC buses can be rented for events like weddings on Sundays. But a notice has to be given 30 days prior to the date. There is also a strict directive that the bus should not be decorated.
