Transgenders on their way to Sabarimala blocked by police
Sabarimala: Police on Tuesday blocked a group including transgender perons on their way to visit the Sabarimala temple. The 15-membered group consisted of nine men and six transgenders.
Following the blocking, Poomkudi and Easwari ended their journey at Pampa. The rest, are on their way to Sabarimala temple.
While attempting to trek the hill shrine from Pampa, the were met with protests alleging that they were women. The group then sought police aid.
After inspecting their identity cards which stated them as women, police warned them of the possibility of protests on the way.
