Trains to carry migrant workers from Kozhikode and Tirur today


The train from Tirur will go to Danapur in Bihar while the train from Kozhikode is destined for Ranchi in Jharkhand.

Kozhikode: Trains carrying migrant workers will leave from Tirur and Kozhikode on Saturday evening.

Malappuram district Collector Jaffer Malik said that the train from Tirur will go to Danapur in Bihar. 1,200 people can return to their homeland on this train. The migrant workers will reach the railway station from their places of stay in KSRTC buses.

The district Collector said that all necessary precautions have been taken to ensure the safety of these workers. The workers have been urged not to reach the railway station on their own and to take the buses arranged by district authorities.

The train from Kozhikode will leave at 5 pm. It was informed that the train from Kozhikode is destined for Ranchi in Jharkhand. But the final decision will be taken soon, said the station manager.

This train will also carry 1,200 labourers. They will also be taken to the railway station in KSRTC buses by district authorities.

The ticket money is being collected from the labourers. The station manager also said that the tickets will not be sold directly to anyone.

43 KSRTC buses will hit the roads to take these migrant labourers to the railway station.
