Shoranur: Shahrukh Saifi, accused in the Elathur train fire incident, was brought to the Shoranur railway station by the NIA for evidence collection.
He was taken around the premises as part of the investigation. The NIA team reached the office of the Railway Protection Force and prepared a detailed report.
The team spent around 5 hours in Shoranur. Sharukh’s face was covered using a towel.
The NIA team was led by DySP Mathruraj Kallikad.
Earlier, a special investigation team had brought Sharukh to Shornur for collecting evidence from the petrol bunk and the shop he brought the lighter from.
Meanwhile, the NIA is expected to visit Shoranur again for investigation as they suspect terrorist links to the incident.
Three people were killed and 9 were injured in the gory incident which took place in the night on the Alappuzha-Elathur Executive Express on April 2.
