Trailer trucks parked at Adivaram
Thamarassery: Vehicles, except ambulances, will not be permitted to enter Thamarassery ghat road from Thursday night to Friday morning 5 am. The vehicles are restricted as two trailer trucks carrying heavy machinery to the plant of Nestle India Limited in Nanjangud are taking this route on Thursday night.
The entry of vehicles to ghat road from Wayanad will be halted from 8 pm and vehicles from Kozhikode will be stopped from 11 pm on Thursday.
No bus services will be available from Kozhikode on Adivaram- Lakkidi route after 11 pm, while the return services from Lakkidi will stop at 10 pm. The authorities have requested the Kozhikode- Bengaluru buses to take Kuttiady- Nalam Mile- Mananthavady route. The buses operating services to Sultan Bathery have to take Kuttiady- Nalam Mile- Kalpetta route.
The freight trucks scheduled to transit from Sultan Bathery or Mananthavady to Kozhikode via Kalpetta- Vythiri route will have to take Beenachi- Panamaram, Meenagadi- Pachilakkad or Pakranthalam route from Thursday 8 pm.
The KSRTC and private buses from Kalpetta to Kozhikode are requested to move via Padinjarathara- Pakranthalam route.
The vehicles moving from Sultan Bathery and Kalpetta regions must take the Nadukani ghat route to Thrissur and Malappuram regions.
The truck with machinery that arrived at Adivaram in September have been parked here for over three months without permission to pass through the ghat road.
The transit date was issued only after the Annamalai transport company produced documents, including an affidavit, a demand draft worth Rs 20 lakh, and a certificate from the Ministry of Road Transport Authority.
The over-dimensional modular hydraulic trailer trucks will carry two pieces of machinery with 17 feetx15 feet X 18.05 feet. The machines weigh 6 tonnes and 7 tonnes each.
The speed of the trailer trucks will be 15 kilometres per hour.
