Thrissur: Restrictions in train services due to track doubling will trouble passengers in the coming days. The long-awaited track doubling on the Chingavanam- Ettumanur route is expected to be realised on May 28.
All passenger services have not been restored after the pandemic. In addition to this, the cancellation of popular train services and rush of passengers due to vacation may put hardship on commuters.
The Parasuram Express that conducts services from the northern end to southern end of Kerala will be stopped for 9 days. It is the last service with general tickets from Kannur to Mangaluru. The Mangala Express and Netravati Express have no unreserved seats. Kannur- Thiruvananthapuram Jan Shatabdi Express will also halt service for five days. A total of 12 major train services will be stopped on various days after May 20.
Alappuzha- Kannur Express has stopped service at Shoranur for months without any prior information. The passenger trains in the state are running without halting at small stations which was not the case earlier.
