Kochi: Senior leader and NCP state president TP Peethambaran, who had extended support to Mani C Kappan over the Pala seat issue, has now cleared his stance that he will not leave LDF and join UDF.
Stating that NCP supremo Sharad Pawar is not a person who goes by individual opinions, Peethambaran hinted that Kappan's move to switch front will not be considered as a split in party.
Peethambaran stated that if Kappan’s decision is against the one taken by national leadership, he will not join him. Pawar has not extended support to Kappan. However, the further procedures will be decided after Kappan declares his stance. The decision of national leadership can’t be announced now, he added.
He also said that Pawar will not be influenced by an individual’s decision.
Earlier, Kappan had addressed the media and said that he and his supporters would be join the UDF. He had also said that Peethamabaran would be joining them. Now, the latter has refuted this claim.
