Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department alerted that Kerala will continue to receive heavy rainfall till August 6, Saturday.
IMD has sounded red, orange and yellow alert in various districts till August 6.
The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority urged the people to exercise extreme caution. A total of 2219 people were shifted to 95 relief camps across the state. The Central Water Commission also issued flood warnings in various rivers in the state.

A red alert indicates heavy to extremely heavy rains of over 20 cm in 24 hours, while an orange alert means very heavy rains from 6 cm to 20 cm of rain. A yellow alert means heavy rainfall between 6 and 11 cm.
