Kalamandalam VC withdraws case against Governor

Thrissur: Dr T K Narayanan, the vice-chancellor of the Kerala Kalamandalam Deemed-to-be-University, on Wednesday said that he has withdrawn the case against Governor Arif Mohammed Khan.

"It was not my personal decision to sue the Governor. I don't hold grudges with anyone. I was just following the law," he said.

R Gopikrishnan, the PRO of the deemed-to-be-university, was suspended in 2017. He later approached Governor asking to reinstate him which he approved. The Kalamandalam legal adviser, in a sitting held in the Raj Bhavan, argued that the Chancellor cannot involve in the matter. The VC did not allow the re-appointment.

The VC then approached High Court saying that the Chancellor is ineligible to be the Chancellor of Kalamandalam.
