Titanium job fraud: Probe team to trace links of key accused, MLA hostel comes under scanner

Thiruvananthapuram: In the Titanium job fraud case, the MLA hostel has fallen under the scanner of the police after the key accused Shyam Lal’s close connection with some MLAs came to light. In the statement to the police, MLA hostel receptionist Manoj revealed that Shyam Lal maintained a good relationship with some MLAs.

According to reports, Manoj who gave his statement in the initial phase of the probe has moved to a hideout.

It is learnt that Shyam Lal, a key accused in the job fraud case was a regular visitor at the MLA hostel and some MLAs were his close friends.

Police recorded receptionist Manoj’s statement when a complaint on the fraud was registered initially. Manoj had gifted a car to Shyam Lal. It is reported that the accused used to take candidates to Titanium company for a job interviews in this car.

CITU leader Anil Kumar, another accused in the case is an employee at the coffee house in the MLA hostel. Following this, the probe team has been assuming that more VIPs are involved in job fraud.

Earlier last week police nabbed Divya Jyothi, the first accused in the case. Sasikumar Thampi, Shyam Lal, Prem Kumar, Manoj and Divya’s husband Rajesh, other key accused in the case are reportedly absconding from the police.
