Tirur man prepares grave for living mother; WC directs police to register case
Malppuram: The Womens Commission (WC) has directed the Tirur police here to register a case against a man who prepared a grave for his living mother.
The accused, Sidhiq, a native of Kodakkal near Tirunavaya, is a BSNL employee. He prepared a grave for his 70-year-old mother following a property dispute.
Earlier, the elderly woman had approached the Womens Commission against her son. The WC directed Sidhiq to fill up the grave. Even after his relatives and neighbours held discussions to broker peace, Sidhiq was not ready to budge.
As Sidhiq was not ready to cooperate, the WC handed over the case to Tirur police.
A total of 56 cases were heard during the adalat held at the district panchayat conference hall. Among them, 12 were settled while 12 more were handed over to the police. 32 have been postponed to the next hearing which will be held on December 21.
WC member E. M. Radha, advocates Reeba Abraham and Rajesh Puthukkad were present.
