Kochi: The Telangana police arrived in Kochi regarding a probe over the alleged poaching of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLAs by BJP ‘agents’. The investigation team reached Kerala after obtaining information that a priest, who is a friend of accused Ramachandra Bharathi, is hiding in Kochi. Two Eloor natives associated with the priest have been taken under custody.
The probe is proceeding in Kerala with the support of Kochi city police. Nalgonda SP Rema Rajeshwari has also arrived in Kochi for the investigation. As many as three accused were arrested in the case so far.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao accused Thushar Vellappally of attempting to poach TRS MLAs on behalf of BJP’s ‘Operation Lotus’. It has been hinted that the Telangana police have received crucial evidence over financial transactions in the case.
The investigation to obtain further information about the priest and Thushar Vellappally’s involvement in the case will be carried out on Monday. The Special Investigation Team of Telangana had been conducting raids in over 10 locations in the nation from Sunday.
