Sarath
Pazhanji: A man was killed in a bike accident, hours before the birth of his baby, for whom he had waited for five-long years. Poovathur native Sarath (30) died when his bike lost control and hit a wall and an electric post near Vettikadavu mosque in Kunnamkulam on Monday at around 1 am. His child was born on Monday noon.
Sarath’s wife Namitha was admitted to a private hospital in Thrissur and he had planned to go to hospital on Monday morning. However, he received a phone call from a friend late at night, requesting help as the fuel tank ran out at Anjur in Kunnamkulam. The tragic accident happened when Sarath was on his way to help his friend.
Though Sarath was immediately taken to a hospital following the accident, he could not be saved. Sarath succumbed to the severe head injury, while his friend Pattithadam native Anurag (19) sustained serious injuries. He was admitted to a private hospital in Thrissur and later shifted to another hospital in Perinthalmanna for better treatment.
Sarath was running a mobile store in Kattakampal. He was an active BJP activist, and always keen to volunteer in the free food delivery programmes here.
