Thrissur: Minister PA Mohammed Riyas said that Thrissur Pooram could become a platform to boost the tourism sector in the state.
His remark came after the government approved Rs 15 lakh for providing security to the upcoming Thrissur pooram event on May 10. He added that this was the first of a kind measure taken by a government in Kerala.
"Thrissur pooram is an event that catches the attention of people from all across the world. Therefore, it should be used to spread the message of the tourism sector in the state," he said.
