Thrissur: A Malayali youth was killed in Poland. The deceased has been identified as Sooraj (24), a native of Ollur in Thrissur.
Sooraj's family learned about his death on Sunday morning. He was working as a supervisor in a private company in Poland. The Georgian natives working in the same company allegedly killed the person. Sooraj along with four other Malayalis had reportedly questioned Georgian natives over smoking, which has been restricted in the office. There was a scuffle over that. Georgian natives attacked Sooraj and other Malayalis, said reports.
Sooraj was stabbed to death, while other Malayalis suffered wounds, the reports added.
Chandu, a member of the Poland Malayali Association, said that Sooraj was stabbed when he tried to stop a scuffle between Georgian natives and Malayalis. Following the incident, the Georgian natives reportedly fled the scene.
Police have sealed off the building and a probe on the matter is ongoing, the reports noted.
