Koratty (Thrissur): On seeing a group of police officers, actor-turned MP Suresh Gopi beckoned them, 'SI, please come here'. Both the officials and the locals were curious on hearing this as the MP had created a controversy by asking a police officer to salute him earlier.
But surprising everyone, Suresh Gopi asked the sub inspector, 'Where is your CI?' As the SI replied that the CI was not present there, the MP handed over a folded traditional shawl to him and said, 'Please give this to CI. He is the one who leads the 'Patheyam' scheme, right? I wanted to appreciate him in person'.
Suresh Gopi arrived at the place after knowing about the Patheyam scheme to offer free food packets initiated by the Janamaithri police and volunteers a year ago. The MP came to contribute food items for the scheme.
Suresh Gopi reached the Patheyam centre during his return from Thrissur. BJP leaders and panchayat authorities welcomed him and accompanied him to Patheyam. The MP inquired about Koratty SHO B K Arun after handing over the items he brought.
After the visit, Suresh Gopi demanded that a facility should be arranged to keep the food items brought to Patheyam in right temperature. He said that those who approach Patheyam for food should be served hot food and entrusted BJP district president K K Aneesh Kumar to do the needful for the same.
