Thrikkakara bypoll: LDF will win its 100th assembly seat, says CM Pinarayi Vijayan

Kochi: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan voiced his confidence over the left front winning the Thrikkakara by-election. His remark came while speaking at the LDF Election Convention event held in Thrikkakara here on Thursday. He said that the UDF camp is worried about losing the election.

"This election is a great opportunity for LDF to increase its seats in the assembly from 99 to 100. This is the opportunity for voters in Thrikkakara to rectify the mistake they made last time," he said.

He also criticized the BJP led central government for not taking action against attacks on Christian-Muslim communities in India. He added that BJP leaders are trying to take advantage of the situation. The secular thinkers in the country will stand against this. However, Congress cannot stand against BJP. They are promoting communalism, he added.

He also claimed that the central government is following an economic policy that favours the wealthy people, leaving others in poverty. They are following the policy once followed by Congress in past. Therefore, congress is unable to fight against the policies of the BJP, he added.

He also criticized the state MPs for noting taking any efforts for bringing developments to the state. The developmental agenda of the government brought a veteran political leader like KV Thomas to join hands with LDF.
