Three youths arrested for attacking Pentecost pastor during prayer meeting in Kollam

Oachira (Kollam): Three youths were arrested for attacking a pastor of The Indian Pentecostal Church of God near Vavvakkavu here.

The arrestees are Akshaya Nath (23), Hariprasad (35) and Nandu (22). The pastor was attacked while conducting a prayer meeting on private property. Police said the accused were against organising the prayer.

The incident happened on January 15. Pastor Reji Pappachan had been leading prayers inside a building on the premises of the Painkili cashew factory. It started a month ago. Jayachandran, the factory owner, insisted on conducting prayers at the factory, it is learnt. The accused were against it and attacked the pastor, his wife and mother-in-law, police said.

Police added that they had identified everyone involved in the attack and the conspiracy. More arrests will be made in the future, police said.
