Three health workers, including a woman, assaulted at vaccination camp in Malappuram
Malappuram: Three health workers, including a woman, at Chirayil Primary Health Centre in Kondotty, were allegedly assaulted by two individuals, who came for receiving Covid jabs. Junior health inspectors Rajesh and Shabarigireesh and junior health worker Ramani were injured in the assault. The incident is the latest in a series of attacks against health workers reported in Kerala.
The injured have been admitted to Kondotty taluk hospital and a case against the attackers has been registered. Karipur police have initiated the investigation and reportedly received clues to identify the attackers.
The health workers were attacked for conveying the individuals about a technical glitch that delayed vaccination process. Though the health workers informed that it will be resolved soon, the individuals enraged and demanded to meet the medical officer. They gradually turned violent and shouted at the health workers.
