Denying permission to Left organisations and students of Jamia Millia Islamia university at the national capital was an attack on the freedom that Indian constitution provides its citizens, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Taking to Facebook to comment on the ongoing protests against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) across the country, the CM said that the central government must not think that it can stop democratic protests by sending leaders and protesters to prison.
“Threats cannot stop people’s protest. Measures such as issuing prohibitory orders, denial of transport facilities and arrests have never led to the failure of any democratic protest,” Pinarayi Vijayan said. He also condemned the arrest of Left leaders.
