Thiruvananthapuram: CPI State Secretary Kanam Rajendran on Tuesday opined that those with vested interests were bringing communalism into politics. He added that LDF has always taken a secular stance and never brought religion into politics.

“Majority and minority communalism are brought into politics with those of vested interests. The Sabarimala women entry issue is raised again to deceive the people which will be realized by the public. Many people had demanded a review on the Supreme Court verdict permitting women of all ages to enter Sabarimala temple. The review petition in this regard is under the consideration of the apex court,” he added.

The public, farmers, labourers – everyone is facing problems in the country. The central government has certain stance on these issues. The need of the hour is to discuss these issues. Hence LDF is focusing on it, he said in response to a question on Sabarimala women entry being used as a weapon for election campaign.

Replying to the question on whether he will enter the electoral fray, Kanam Rajendran said that the decision will be taken after the notification is issued.
