Thiruvananthapuram: CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran stated that the finance minister should have avoided making public statement regarding the Vigilance raid in the Kerala State Financial Enterprises (KSFE).
Vigilance raid in public sector institutions is not happening for the first time. The ministers do not respond like this in those situations. The chairman or MD of the company respond on the matter. If that was what happened in this situation, no controversy would have erupted, Kanam said.
The chief minister is an LDF leader. So, CPI need not reject his statements. The minister need not be informed of the raid. When the CM and finance minister lose trust in each other, the cabinet collective responsibility will be lost, he added.
The stand taken by CPI mouthpiece in the KSFE raid issue should not be considered as the party’s stance completely. It was more about losing the credibility of KSFE. No such controversies affect the public. LDF will get more votes and win the seats, Kanam stated.
Kanam also said that the CM’s police adviser Raman Srivastava acting as the adviser of a private finance company is an isolated incident. All those who are part of the government, act in accordance to the interest of the government.
Srivastava is trusted as such a person. CPI has opposed whenever the government acted against the stand of LDF. It was intended to correct the government, he added.
