Thiruvananthapuram: Congress leader Mathew Kuzhalnadan demanded that finance minister Dr Thomas Isaac should answer the questions leaving aside his politics. The finance minister is raising allegations to divert attention from the issues related to Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB), Mathew Kuzhalnadan added.
KIIFB is taking loan from outside India for a higher interest rate than inside the country. Isaac should explain this as a finance minister. KIIFB did not answer many of my questions. The minister repeated that the KIIFB loans were taken with permission of the Reserve Bank. I will disclose information proving this argument is wrong, Mathew Kuzhalnadan said.
My question is whether a company formed by the government has the right to take loans. Thomas Isaac should make it clear what benefit KIIFB provided to the government. I have not met with the BJP leaders regarding KIIFB issue or any other matter. If Thomas Isaac could prove the allegations levelled against me, I can end my political career, he added.
