Thomas Isaac alleges conspiracy to destroy KIIFB
Thiruvananthapuram: Finance minister Thomas Isaac came out against the CAG report and said there was a conspiracy to destroy the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB).
He said in Assembly here on Wednesday that the state was able to make KIIFB project a role model for the entire nation. In the initial phase, everyone was against the project. But KIIFB was able to be a role model for the comprehensive development of basic facilities in the state.
It was at this juncture, everyone started targeting KIIFB. In order to sabotage the development activities, a conspiracy was hatched to go against KIIFB. When not a single issue was raised during any stage of the auditing how can the CAG report include it ?. Several matters which did not figure in the draft report were included in CAG’s final report, Isaac alleged.
Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala told the Assembly that KIIFB projects were failed and had demanded comprehensive auditing of KIIFB. But Isaac said that the opposition is only trying to create controversies. He also said that the fate of the Palarivattom flyover must not be repeated in KIIFB and the government will be alert on this. The government is bound to prevent any such eventualities, he said.
