Thodupuzha: A bike rider was killed in an accident here on Monday. The deceased, Kuravilangad native Bimal Babu was riding a bike with his friend, when an Innova MPV hit them.
The incident happened at around 12.30 am at the Njondimakkal junction on the Pala-Thodupuzha road. The Innova was headed towards Pala. It lost control and hit an electric post before crashing onto the bike of Bimal.
It is assumed that the driver of the MPV fell asleep resulting in the accident. The pillion rider of the bike has been admitted to Kottayam Medical College Hospital. Bimal’s mortal remains are at the Pala general hospital.
