Mobile super market with solar panels

Thrissur: The mobile supermarket is one of the highlights of Vaiga International Agricultural Fest being held in Thrissur. The vehicle goes to the farm early in the morning to collect vegetables and from there directly to flats and houses. The inside temperature of the vehicle is maintained at 14 to 16 degrees celsius.

Three tons of fruits and vegetables can be stored in the vehicle. The relative humidity is kept stable at 75. The energy is supplied through the solar energy panel kept on top of the vehicle. The mobile supermarket was assembled by a Bengaluru-based company called Rinok India Limited.

The vehicle, when parked in public places, will expand by three feet from either side. Two tons of fruits and vegetables can be kept for sale in more than 100 trays. Beneath this is a storage space which has a capacity of one ton.

The supermarket has been set up in a vehicle that is 22-foot long. As the fruits and vegetables are brought directly from the farm, the consumers can buy it fresh. And since there are no middlemen involved, the farmer will get a fair price from this transaction. The products can be kept for up to four days without getting damaged.

The company will assemble the supermarket if it is provided with the chasis of a vehicle. A solar panel of up to 3.5 volts can be set up in the vehicle.
